The Project

Caney River Wind Farm completed construction in Q1 2012. Owned by Enel Green Power in association with Trade Wind Energy, LLC developed this 200MW wind farm to supply power to over 70,000 households. Balfour Wind Energy managed construction of the site, retaining Maxim Crane Works, LP for all crane related requirements. Total cost was approximately $350 million to erect (111) 1.8MW wind turbines; work began in July 2011 and was completed in seven months.

The scope and scale of this project required comprehensive lift solutions while adhering to the highest safety standards. Maxim Crane provided (7) crawlers ranging from 825 Ton to 100 Ton; plus, (3) rough terrain cranes of 100T. All lifting equipment was operated & maintained by Maxim Crane. In addition Maxim Crane assisted with planning, engineering and industry leading adherence to safety for the duration of the project.

The Result

Over 30,000 labor hours completed without major incident.
