On April 4, 2026, Miami Freedom Park and Nu Stadium officially opened to the public. The new entertainment district is now a major hub for the city, replacing the interim Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale while introducing a vast footprint of restaurants, outdoor wellness, and other entertainment options to the area. This ambitious project required a full-service lift solutions provider to build the exterior and interior of the stadium over the course of eight months.
Building a 10.5-acre stadium within a 131-acre private development that will have 58-acre public park, public soccer fields, 750-room hotel and one million square feet of office, retail & commercial in the heart of a densely populated city requires immense precision, strict adherence to timelines, and an unwavering commitment to safety. Maxim drew upon its historical expertise with stadium projects in major cities to move forward in the safest, most efficient manner possible, with minimal disruption to surrounding city life and deep collaboration with all stakeholders.
The scope and scale of this project required comprehensive lift solutions while adhering to the highest safety standards. Maxim brought in a total of nine cranes for this job. Two 275-ton crawler cranes, two 230-ton crawler cranes, one 200-ton crawler crane & one 110-ton crawler crane. Meanwhile, two 75-ton rough terrain cranes and one 90-ton rough terrain crane provided support for the building’s shell for a total of five months each.
