Maxim Crane Works continues to earn recognition among the leading crane rental and heavy-lift companies in the industry, earning top placements across several major industry lists, including the ACT100, IC100, and RER100.
These rankings reflect the diversity, strength, and scale of Maxim’s fleet, as well as the ability to support customers across a wide range of projects, industries, and regions.
Maxim Remains #1 on the ACT100
Maxim Crane Works retained its #1 spot on the 2026 ACT100 list, published by American Cranes & Transport. The ACT100 ranks North America’s largest crane-owning companies by ACT100 index, which is calculated by totaling each company’s maximum lifting capacities, in U.S. tons, of all mobile cranes and crawler cranes in a company’s fleet.
For 2026, Maxim reported an ACT100 index of 719,682 to maintain its position as the leader on the list. American Cranes & Transport notes that Maxim remains the clear leader, with a margin of over 400,000 tons over the second ranked company on the list.
On top of the overall ACT100 ranking, Maxim was also recognized across several ACT fleet categories:
- #2 on the Top 10 Largest Mobile Fleets list with 1,245 mobile units
- #2 on the Top 10 Largest Crawler Fleets list with 403 crawler units
- #3 on the Top 20 Largest Fleet Size list with 1,648 total fleet units
- #7 on the Top 10 Largest Cranes List with the 2,535 U.S. Ton Manitowoc 31000 crawler crane
These rankings highlight Maxim’s ability to provide customers with access to equipment for a wide range of lifting needs.
Maxim Ranks #4 on the IC100
Maxim also earned the #4 spot on the International Cranes and Specialized Transport’s 2026 IC100, a global ranking of the world’s largest crane-owning companies.
The IC100 ranks companies by a measurement of the total overall lifting capacity, in tonne-metres, of all cranes in a company’s fleet. Maxim’s #4 spot comes as a result of 1,540,254 tonne-metres of lifting capacity.
This placement reflects Maxim’s continued position among the largest and highest-capability crane-owning companies in the world.
Maxim Ranked #8 on the RER100
Maxim was also given the 8th place spot on the Rental Equipment Register’s 2026 RER100 list. The RER100 ranks the largest North-American based (or doing significant business in North America) rental companies by rental volume.
According to RER, Maxim saw a 7.8% increase in rental volume year over year, further reinforcing Maxim’s position as a leading provider of crane rentals. Maxim specializes in renting heavy-lift equipment, including all-terrain cranes, boom trucks, carry-deck cranes, crawler cranes, hydraulic truck cranes, rough terrain cranes, and tower cranes.
More Than Rankings
While these rankings measure the size, capacity, and volume of Maxim’s fleet, they also point to something larger: Maxim’s commitment to supporting customers with equipment, expertise, and resources necessary to keep projects moving.
With one of the most extensive fleets in the industry, a coast-to-coast footprint, and a team committed to safety and reliability, Maxim Crane Works continues to provide lifting solutions for complex jobs across commercial construction, infrastructure, and industrial markets.
These 2026 recognitions are a reflection of the customers who trust Maxim, teams who maintain and operate equipment, and the continued investment in the fleet and services that support projects across the country.
