Rise With Us: Maxim Crane Lands Top Spots in 2025 ACT100 and IC100 Rankings

The crane rental and lift solutions provider placed first in the ACT100 and third in the IC100, which rank companies by the total maximum lifting capacity in their fleets.

2025 was a record-breaking year for the ACT 100, the nation-wide ranking of ACT indexes, which are calculated as the sum total of maximum lifting capacities in U.S. tons of all crawler cranes and mobile cranes in a company’s fleet. Surpassing 3.4 million tons, the total index has never been higher.

The same goes for the IC100. The whole industry experienced significant growth this year, with the global publication Crane & Transport Briefing citing 214 global companies with a combined total fleet capability of 41,843,287 points, up 11 percent on 2024’s 37,712,101 and more than 20% up on the 2023 total of 34,510,957 points.

Still, even though the stakes were raised for everyone, Maxim still set the bar higher.

Maxim Crane Works ranks number one in the ACT100 industry list.

This year, Maxim Crane ranked first with a winning ACT Index of 721,581.

“Since 2022, we’ve been executing a long-term fleet refresh strategy – and unprecedented investment in both cranes and support assets,” said Larry Lis, Chief Operating Officer, Maxim Crane Works for Crane & Transport Briefing. “That allows us to deliver with consistency, safety and speed, whether it’s a single crane rental or a complex, multi-state lift plan.”

“Our goal is to meet our customers with turn-key lift solutions in their industries and ensure that Maxim has the right crane in the right place at the right time to serve the most dynamic projects,” continued Lis. “We’ve focused on purchasing fungible assets that can work across our core customer vertical of building, industrial and infrastructure.”

Maxim Crane also landed first in the rankings when the first ACT100 emerged in 2005, twenty years ago. According to D.Ann Shifler for cranebriefing.com, “Maxim is not just the first company on the ACT100, but the first company by a far margin in excess of 400,000 tons.”

Maxim Crane Works achieves third place in the IC100 rankings for excellence.

Similarly, the IC100 ranks IC Indexes as the total maximum load moment rating, in tonne-metres, of all cranes in a fleet, according to Crane Briefing. This index is measured globally.

As for the IC100, Maxim Crane ranked third with an IC Index of 1,509,547. This is a major surge for the company after Maxim placed 12th on the list in 2024. Only Mammoet, based in the Netherlands, and Sarens, based in Belgium, precede Maxim in this list.

Crane & Transport Briefing labeled Maxim Crane as this year’s ‘disruptor’, pushing other major international players down and out of the top 10.

“We view competition as an opportunity to differentiate through service, safety and reliability,” said Lis. “Our investments in fleet, technology, and operational excellence are not just about having the newest equipment, they’re about delivering consistent, worry-free outcomes for our customers.”
